2021-22 SP Authentic stays true to its legacy as a hit-heavy, autograph-driven hockey product. This year delivers a balanced mix of veterans and rookies, with Future Watch rookies being the primary auto chase. You're guaranteed one Future Watch Auto and one additional autograph per hobby box, which helps spread out the chase. The base set is 200 cards, split evenly between veterans and rookies, all with solid parallel support. Rookies like Cole Caufield, Trevor Zegras and Lucas Raymond are well-represented across inserts, and a handful like Swayman, Perfetti and Knight also appear in the high-end 2011-12 Retro Auto Patch set. The Spectrum FX Bounty program returns with a 99-card chase and a unique redemptions-only parallel chase card. Design-wise, the clean, modern layout keeps the focus on the player and the on-card autos. One note: while there are plenty of autographs, most memorabilia hits are limited to the Limited Auto Material and Future Watch Auto Patch sets, so patch collectors should know this isn't the deepest well.
